Gerdau MACSTEEL has invested $260,000,000 over the last decade to become a world class producer of Engineered Steel Bars.
Phase I made Gerdau MACSTEEL a producer of bearing quality steels and led us to become the dominant source of steel for gears, camshafts, and wheel bearings.
Phase II brought MACGOLD precision sized bars to the market and made Gerdau MACSTEEL the dominant source of steel for gears, camshafts, and wheel bearings.
Phase III has expanded the size range for Gerdau MACSTEEL and brought total compatibility in steel making capability to both Gerdau MACSTEEL plants and meets requirements of the new Clean Air Act.
Phase IV is our response to the overwhelming success of MACPLUS and the trend in manufacturing for a defect free bar.
Phase V will enhance all phases of production and achieve the efficiency to generate over 720,000 tons of shipping capacity.
Phase VI further increases Gerdau MACSTEEL's productive capacity and capability in MACPLUS cold finished bars, heat treating, and automated inspection.
